- I have gained wide-ranging experience through running a crisis, counselling and advice
centre for over 20 years.
- I am Director of Wessex Therapy (and Wessex Therapy Plus) which I founded in 2006.
- I work with people of all ages and from all walks of life, including people suffering with
what many would consider more extreme mental health problems.
- I have a long-standing professional interest in 'recovery' within mental health.
- I am also experienced in working with children and young people facing emotional, social
and behavioural problems.
- I also take referrals from the Dorset Child and Family Counselling Trust (DCFCT).
- People tend to experience me as approachable, non-clinical, thoughtful and
practical.
- I am a graduate of Regent's College School of Psychotherapy & Counselling Psychology,
London.
- I have enhanced Criminal Record Bureau clearance.
- My training includes Child Protection and Safeguarding Children.
- I worked for some years as Executive Director of a charity in partnership with the NHS and
Social Services to provide services for people with mental health problems.
- I am an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) which is one of the
main governing bodies for psychotherapists and I am also a member
of the Society for
Existential Analysis and with this a Member of the College of
Constructivist Psychotherapies.
