Helping families, children and young people by ...

  • Listening carefully with an open mind to how you experience and explain your problems and concerns.
  • Hearing what you have tried and what so far has not been helpful - so we can try something new.
  • Recognising that every family, child and young person is unique - so any solutions need to suit you personally.
  • Considering together a range of possibilities so that you can choose what you think is best for you.
  • Open discussion (where relevant) on potential limits, risks and dangers of mental health medications when
used long-term for children and young people.
  • Understanding that younger children in particular only benefit from the sessions if they enjoy them.
  • Being willing to liaise with schools and health care professionals where we think this might be helpful.

If a family thinks this may be
helpful, I do sometimes view
their movie shots together with
them (thus highlighting some of
the difficulties they are facing)
