Helping you

The list below gives some idea of how people sometimes describe their concerns when coming to see me.  This is
not intended as a comprehensive list, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you think I might be able to help.
What really matters to me are your personal experiences and concerns (irrespective of any labels others may have
used to try and describe them).

  • Addictions (including drug and alcohol problems)
  • Anger problems
  • Anxiety
  • 'Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder' (ADHD)
  • 'Bipolar disorders'
  • Childhood sexual abuse
  • Depression
  • Fears, phobias and/or feeling insecure
  • Family problems
  • Grief and loss
  • Panic attacks
  • 'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder' (PTSD)
  • Problems faced by children and young people
  • Psychosis
  • Relationship difficulties
  • 'Schizophrenia'
  • Spiritual concerns
  • Stress and/or unable to relax or sleep properly
  • Stress aspects of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and
    Fibromyalgia
  • Other emotional and mental distress
  • A wish for a new sense of purpose and direction

How many sessions?

Unlike many counsellors, I do not insist that people book a series of 6 or more sessions. I think it is a good idea to book
an initial meeting and then decide if you would like to continue. Sometimes one or two sessions can be sufficient.
I am experienced in short-term and longer-term work - so you can choose whichever suits your needs and preferences.
